About Toni

Nice to meet you

As a HPCSA Registered Counsellor, I believe that our mental health is just as important as our physical health. I offer online counselling for individuals looking to further develop their mental health management toolkit, as well as for those who are simply seeking a safe space to be heard.

I use an integrated approach to counselling, drawing on tools and techniques from various therapeutic modalities to best suit your needs. I most frequently work with: Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Positive Psychology. By using these techniques, I aim to create a collaborative process that equips you with the practical skills you need to thrive.

My workshops provide an interactive group setting to build skills in areas like communication and emotional intelligence.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

It's natural to have questions before starting your counselling journey. This section addresses some of the most common questions clients ask, so you can feel more comfortable and confident about taking the next step.

I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute consultation to help you decide if my services are the right fit for you. This is a great opportunity to ask any questions you have and get a sense of how we might work together before committing to a full session.

  • What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll discuss what brings you to counselling, your goals, and answer any questions you have about the process.
  • How long are sessions and how often will we meet?
Sessions typically last 51 - 60 minutes. We'll usually meet once a week, especially at the beginning, to build momentum, but this can be adjusted based on your needs.
  • How long will I be in counselling?
The duration of counselling is unique to each individual and their goals. Some people find relief after a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support.
  • What are the costs per session?
A standard 51-60 minute session is R600. An invoice will be sent to you upon booking, and payment is due before the session begins.
  • Do you accept medical aid?
Unfortunately not. This practice currently only accepts cash payments. Payments can be made via EFT prior to the start of the session.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Parties involved (client and counsellor) need to provide a minimum of 24hours notice if a session is to be cancelled or rescheduled. Cancellation and/or rescheduling can be sent through via email. If you fail to provide the minimum cancellation notice, you will be invoiced and required to pay 50% of the session fee (R300) before their next session.
